The New Name For TEDA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Athletics

Our interscholastic athletics program runs yearround, and many students choose to play all year. Sports at the Middle and High School levels include volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, swimming and track. Middle and High School teams compete with teams from similar sized schools in our local Tianjin ISCOT region and in regional tournaments around the country within the larger China-Mongolia ACAMIS league. Middle School athletics focuses primarily on teamwork and skill development, while High School teams hone their skills and prepare for annual competitive tournaments. At the Primary level, student track and soccer teams have an opportunity to compete within our local Tianjin ISCOT league.

TEDA Global Academy -

Our athletics program follows our school's commitment to an inclusive community and character development. We follow a "no cut" philosophy; all students are encouraged to participate, regardless of experience or ability level. Our teams are competitive and practice regularly to develop skill and teamwork, but our focus isn't limited to winning. We believe that sports are an important way to learn to make friends and work well with others, to set and reach personal and collective goals, and to learn to support and appreciate others and gracefully accept defeat as well as victory.

While we hire external referees for our games and tournaments, our athletics program relies largely on volunteers to help manage teams and activities. Opportunities exist for coaches, assistant coaches, managers, chaperones, tournament assistants and scorekeepers. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the Athletics Office.
